According to recent news the answer is yes. Apple, Google and Amazon have been working on a new standard called CHIP. I am mostly into enterprise IoT solutions, but I think this could be a big one for the complete IoT industry. I have just stumbled upon the information that Semtech together with company TensorIT has managed to integrate it's chips with the Amazon AWS IoT. All LoRaWAN networks are built with Semtech chips so this integration means quite a lot since it's possible to stream data from the LoRaWAN sensors into the Amazon AWS which is the biggest cloud provider globally. I have been writing before about LPWAN coverage from satellites but mostly for LoRaWAN and SigFox technologies. This was natural due to the fact that these two technologies are aiming more towards remote, rural and suburban areas where there is no coverage from 4G cell towers. NB-IoT bein more costly and more energy hungry technology with the flip side of more capacity and real bidirectional was mostly aimed at city-wide IoT applications.
