MyDevices is an IoT solution company with the idea of helping people to quickly design, make a prototype and go to market with their IoT solution. This seems a bit bold statement, so I decided to check out their business concept.
They have simple drag and drop IoT project builder called Cayenne. It contains a “Cayenne IoT ready” catalog of devices but it also allows adding new device to the library by utilizing MQTT API and on the IoT Ready Program partners we see a lot of well known names. Also, there’s a myDevices Cayenne Community that can help you with your project as well as inspire you with some of the projects they have built. Than there are Video Tutorials for getting started, explaining the features, HW setup and some other relevant themes. Last and the most important are the Cayenne Docs that will give you a full overview all you need to know – from getting started to supported HW and APIs.
Now, when I look at all of the things they provide, it seems that MyDevices is the right choice if you would like to have nice and easy taste of IoT world – but they went even further with their “IoT in a Box” offering.
This is turnkey LoRaWAN IoT solution powered by MyDevices. It’s an out of the box solution that’s super simple to install, but it’s very customizable and secured with E2E AES data encryption. Idea is that you scan the HW’s QR code, than install the sensor on desired physical location and start monitoring. “IoT in a Box” for now basically offers just the monitoring feature with some thresholds alerts and this can be applied for the refrigeration systems, enterprise assets as well as multi-layer protection (motion, door, leak detection). There are many industries in which we can use those solutions: preserving school cafeteria food safety, automated facility management monitoring, automated commercial refrigeration monitoring in supermarkets, restaurants or even hospitals, labs and drug stores. Prepacked solutions are charged monthly on as a service basis, but you can built your own solution by choosing the right HW you need. Beside well known HW partners, you’ll also have a peace of mind by knowing that there’s a possibility of integration with GSuit and AWS. Another important thing worth mentioning is that MyDevices offers 30 days free trail of their “IoT in a Box” solutions.
So, why did I chose to review company MyDevices and their offerings? Because they made a great “package” from what’s available out there for all of us. Even though it seems that anybody can do it, since when you look at their Marketplace honestly you can get those devices even cheaper – but real secret of success lays on those simple value added services (partner program, docs, video tutorials, community, turnkey kits) they offer. I believe many are/will follow this approach, and as an end customer I don’t have anything against it, if you set the right level of QoS.

If you need a machine and don’t buy it, then you will ultimately find that you have paid for it and don’t have it.
