We’ve already been writing about Arduino development boards, but now I’d focus on development boards that do offer NB-IoT and LTE-M connectivity.
The reason for this is the fact that lately we see a lot of IoT business development being done by the MNOs, thus availability of NB-IoT and/or LTE-M connectivity is becoming a common thing these days all over the world.
If you’re aiming a large scale IoT project or just some hobby IoT project, I believe that it would be a waste of time to do it all by yourself. The best practice would be to use all the available “kits” for things, connectivity, analytics, applications to get results as soon as possible and afterwards fine tune where needed.
GSMA made a very good list of NB-IoT and LTE-M development kits and I’m sharing just a short overview of the list:

As you may noticed, MNOs are reducing their monthly fees, opening tech hubs and with NB-IoT and CAT-M they have the right technology to catch up with LoRa and Sigfox players. So, I’d say they’ll be one of the key enablers of the IoT future – thus take a close look at the provided list.
Another good thing that GSMA offers is worth mentioning. You can also get your product on this list of development kits, you just need to fill out required information.
I’m planning to get some of the listed development kits and I’ll definitely share with you my fair judgement about these.
This blog is focused on simplifying and promoting the complex but also very interesting world of IoT, 5G, networking and digitalization.
Blog’s aim is to give short, interesting and useful information and content to business people and everyone interested in IoT/5G business development, entrepreneurship and practical use cases.
The blog presents concepts and analyses, use cases, product comparisons, news roundups, interviews, educational videos, tutorials, reports and whitepapers.
If you need a machine and don’t buy it, then you will ultimately find that you have paid for it and don’t have it.
